Greenhouse gas audit report
A greenhouse gas (GHG) audit or "carbon footprint" report assesses your organisation's contribution to global GHG emissions. Scope 1 emissions cover direct emissions from owned or controlled sources. Scope 2 covers indirect emissions from the generation of purchased electricity, steam, heating, and cooling. Scope 3 includes all other indirect emissions that occur in your organisation's value chain. There are various online tools to help organisations of different sizes and types to undertake a detailed assessment or calculate estimates depending on available budget and data. Consultants can also be hired to do this for you. Most will use the leading methodology, which is the GHG Protocol (https://ghgprotocol.org/). Finance providers are increasingly interested in baseline companies' GHG data, improvements over time, and future opportunities related to emission reductions, net zero targets, or selling carbon credits.
