Fire and emergency procedure
A fire and emergency procedure outlines all the steps that should be taken to prepare for and respond to ay emergency that could affect the organisation and nearby communities. A risk assessment will identify the emergencies that are most likely to happen or would cause the most harm. This can include, but is not limited to, fire, storms, floods, earthquakes, social unrest, crime, explosions, building collapse, or hazardous chemical or waste spills. An emergency preparedness and management plan should be prepared for each prioritized emergency situation to minimize damage to the organisation, its workers, and nearby communities. This should include drills, training of staff, emergency signage, and guidelines on how to access local emergency agencies. Fire safety plans for buildings that have public access should be compliant with international fire standards.
